1. Service Description
AppCanary is a monitoring service that tracks publicly available ratings and reviews of Shopify apps. We scrape data from the Shopify App Store, detect significant changes, and alert you via email or Slack.
2. Plans and Pricing
- Free plan: monitor 1 app, 7 days of history, default alert thresholds.
- Pro plan: unlimited apps, 90 days of history, custom thresholds, Slack alerts, priority support.
Prices are displayed on the pricing page and may change with 30 days notice. Existing subscribers keep their current price until the end of their billing period.
3. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually depending on your chosen plan. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
4. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period. After cancellation, your account reverts to the Free plan. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
5. Service Availability
AppCanary is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or 100% uptime. The Shopify App Store may change its structure at any time, which could temporarily affect scraping accuracy. We make reasonable efforts to detect and fix such changes promptly but cannot guarantee instant recovery.
6. Data Accuracy
Rating data is scraped from publicly available Shopify App Store pages. One-star review counts are approximations derived from percentage breakdowns. We do not guarantee the absolute accuracy of any data point. AppCanary is a monitoring tool — decisions based on the alerts are your responsibility.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to harass, defame, or interfere with other Shopify developers.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, free-tier restrictions, or authentication.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or redistribute data obtained from AppCanary.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AppCanary and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Any disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts of the Czech Republic.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
